I’m not entirely sure what I did. But it works again!! That’s 800 bucks right back outta the toilet! I don’t even care if there’s shit on the bills! Starting up comic again! I shouldn’t have been lazy and just been doing the comic on the side with a pen and paper!
Yeah, so, my tablet screen is pretty dead, and no response from the company =/ I guess I should have expected as much, but it’s ok, we must move on and persevere! I will start posting again, and this time the comics will generally be hand drawn for the most part. Wheee! Keep an eye out.
My tablet monitor has inexplicably killed itself; this is quite depressing. I bought it discounted, since I placed in a contest to get it, but it still cost me a grip of money, so I’m a bit bummed out. So no comic today unfortunately; I’m just gonna post an old one, sorries =( At least it’s SOMEWHAT relevant, as Killzone 3 is coming out soon! Even though this was for Killzone 2…. blehhhhhh.
I’ve been able to finally get the site looking a bit more how I like it (still need to change the background, menu, other stuff, etc…) and messing with the CSS has been a bit of a chore. I’m using Comicpress, a theme that sits on WordPress and makes it work well for Comics. Then I took a child theme, called Foreboding, and put it on top of THAT. The child theme CSS file overwrites the main theme CSS file, making it easy to upgrade the regular theme and not losing any modifications. Though, not ALL the changes were included in the child theme CSS, so I had to manually pull some from the regular one, paste it in the child one, and now it overwrites nice and happily. Thank you built in Google Chome inspect element for making this WAYY easier. Anyhoo, enough with that! I just reread what I wrote and it sounds like I’m trying to talk with delicious cheese in my mouth.
I preorded Duke Nukem Forever. I’m very excited for it, way more than someone my age should be. I miss old style FPS games; there’s too much of that “serious” injected into the genre nowadays. For those of you that missed it, I’m including it here. Please watch it a lot.
I’ve rejiggered the site successfully; now I’m running the webcomic and the blog through wordpress, using the comicpress addon. It was not as easy to set up as I thought it would be, and I’ve permanently lost some pictures attached to my blog posts, but all is well.
The comics (all 4 of them! hold on to your genitals!) are up and the navigation system is up as well, with the archive. I’ve had to do some renaming and relinking, but it’s a lot better now. I can now post comics without worrying about all the backend stuff. Good times!
I’ll have a new comic up Monday; time to start thinking what it’s gonna be!
Currently, the website, comic, and blog are transitioning to new a new backend, everything done in WordPress. I WAS doing the comic in html, by hand, so I’m done with that. Everything will be back to normal later!
So yeah, this weeks comic is a bit… fillerish. Why might you ask? Wouldn’t I want to start off doing my webcomic with more of a bang than since I’m trying to “get back into it”? Well, working on my newest masterpiece last night yielded absolutely nothing, as I learned another hard lesson in the school of Photoshop, which was “SAVE YOUR SHIT OFTEN.”
Sigh. While having your computer crash in the middle of a epic Battlefield hullabaloo is irritating, having your computer crash after you didn’t save and put two hours of work into a webcomic is mortifying. I went to sleep angry yesterday. Very angry.
Anyhoo, new comic is up, as promised on Monday, but concessions had to be made. More pasting and more effects than needed, I’m sure; but I gotta get back into Photoshoping as much as I need to get back into drawing. Thanks for viewing either way!
Oh, and on a side note, I am extremely ecstatic for a new Battlefield. I’ll explain my Battlefield thoughts later in the week, but yes, more of the ol’ gal is always welcome.
No one company can quite cross the gauntlet of the Product Announcement™ without being lambasted throughly. The 3DS had it’s moment, anger over frame rates while in 3D to the “paltry” battery life when in said 3D running rampant. Sony has now debuted its handheld crown jewel, and has been rightfully criticized for even attempting such a thing again. Battery life? Terrible. As powerful as a PS3? Too much power for one handheld to wield. Beautiful screen? Why isn’t it in 3D?
The products will come out, if they are terrible, they won’t be bought, and they will die. End of story; calm down fevered masses.
Photos Are Still Gone, But Now I Know Why
by Big Daddy on January 26, 2011 at 3:13 pmIn updating my blog, moving it from 16bithero.com to 16bithero.com/Blog, some of the links were not updated along with the rest of the site. These include pictures!! There are a few plugins to fix this, but they don’t work for my WordPress version, and it’s my fault for upgrading too rapidly. So, until the foreseeable future, no pics on the old blog posts! Yay?
Yes, I am aware, looking into it! Transferring over these wordpress.org files to a new location can get kinda screwy.
